“that’s just how it is.”
or is it?
there must be more.
the possibilities
could they already be here?
waiting for us to see?
the sky is the limit
...or is it? 🤔

when I think about constructs, about the ways we learn to carry these personal prisons within ourselves and to expect them of others, and of our society. I think about how established structures seem “fine” when we benefit, and also how we feel intimidated by endless possibilities without some patterns of familiarity... of safety.
we know the current structures do not support everyone. they do not keep us all safe. what really is stopping us from making new systems? community, accountability, care, nuance, and understanding, etc. do we have the courage, the collective responsibility? because that is how constructs are constructed, right? and even when the old ones appear to be made of stone, rigid and heavy, they are not permanent. we do not need permission to open up to the possibilities. there are so many we are already practicing.
“That’s just how it is.” - how limiting to our imaginations; how can we open up to the possibilities within the present to liberate us?
